Rainy-Weather Song

Rainy weather sometimes makes us blue
Turning the skies to a different hue
With a gloomy face, sky looks ‘pon the earth
Teary eyed, and not with sunny mirth.

Everything is wet, everything is gray.
Mist fills the sky. The sun’s gone away.
Drowsiness blankets; drip-drop sound prevails.
Leaky roofs chime. The sight of sitting pails.

In askew puddle, the sad face of a clown.
All’s slow motion, the rain’s slowed it down.
Rain cap, rain coat, and rubber galoshes—
The gear to protect from wet sploshes.

Oh, rainy weather sometimes makes us blue
Turning our skies to a different hue
