Willow By The Brook

A willow grows,
And thus shows
Her beauty by the brook.
Such gorgeous scene—
Quite serene—
As if t'were from a book.

Thus evergreen—
Her branches seen,
Dangle by the brook.
Reflected in water,
Her beauty ne'er falters,
Demanding another look.

Nurtured and fed
By the brook's bed,
Ne'er is she forsook;
For, nature remembers—
January to December—
The weeping willow by the brook.
