Burley Brains

To read today’s headlines
Is not a welcoming thought.
The majority of events
Are nefariously wrought.

One can’t help but wondering
What influences the mind
Of all those perpetrators
Ranking evil and unkind.

A sad world we’re living in,
Folks searching for a clue
To get things turned around
And reflect a brighter hue.

Too many a burley brain
Causing so much senseless pain.
