Consider

Consider the fatherless and orphans.
The halt and the maimed.
The aged, and the bereaved.
The handicapped, and the lame.

Consider the deaf, and the dumb.
And those who writhe in pain.
The blind and the lonely ones.
Oh, please, consider again.

Consider the homeless and naked,
The sick and the poor,
The abused and outcast;
Consider, I pray, once more.

Consider the hungry and diseased,
The widowed and depressed.
And all the broken masses
That are afflicted and oppressed.

Consider those you know,
Worse-off than you by far.
And, then, consider yourself;
Consider how blessed you are.
