As I Rise...

As I rise to meet this day,
Father, I just want to say—
Thank you for a peaceful night
By your grace, all is right.
Thank you for the eyes to see
All that you have given me.
Thank you for a mouth to speak
Of your kindness unto me.
Thank you for a tongue to praise
Your Holiness all my days,
And for feet that I might go
Unto your temple evermore.
Thanks for strength when I am weak;
Keep me humble kind and meek.

Thank you for
These hands to raise
In your holy presence,
That I might ever worship
With duly reverence.

And thank you for a heart of love—
A precious gift from above.
But most of all, thank you for
Your precious Son whom I adore.
