If I Had the Voice of the Morning

If I had a voice of the morning
I would sing like an angel
My song would rise to heaven
And soar within God's holy presence.

I'd perch my voice beyond the stars
To let it's melody ring
O wonder of wonders, praises to God
I'd sing, sing, sing, and sing.

Not fortune, fame, nor for glory
These are not my goal.
But for the prize—a higher calling—
No riches can afford.
This would be my goal for singing—
To send His praises sweetly ringing;
If I had a voice of the morning
I would sing like an angel.

My heart would soar to ultimate heights
My hands would stretch tall and wide
My soul would draw from it's depth
To let my praise be heard on high.

All my praise would be to Jesus
If I had a voice of the morning
I'd lift my eyes toward the skies
And sing like an angel.
