What Is Love

What is love, a feeling?
No.
A notion?
No.
Infatuation or vain emotions?
No.

Love is not a feeling,
But a spirit full and free.
Love is not bondage,
But the joy of liberty.
Love is of the heart,
Not a product of the mind:
Pure, compassionate,
Merciful and kind.
Love is not to dominate
With vain jealousy.
Love is not lust,
But a powerful entity.

Love is simple,
Yet profound;
Ever increasing,
Ever sound:
A perfect opus,
An eternal abode,
Sacrificial,
A melodic ode.

In the chambers of the heart
With wisdom from above,
May we seek to know
The essence of true love.
