Hope Is

Hope is the break of dawn,
A glimmer in the night,
A quasar in the distance,
A tiny ray of light.
Hope keeps the fire burning,
Expectancy alive.
Though flames dwindle,
Hope knows,
The coals never die.
Hope keeps the ship sailing
On high and windy seas.
Regardless how the winds blow,
Or the turbulent sea,
As long as hope navigates,
The vessel sales with ease.
Hope that’s born of the heart,
Securely anchors the soul,
Ever reaching and increasing,
Ever embracing the goal.
When the nights are long
With no end in sight,
The voice of hope gently says,
“Things will be all right.”
