This Generation

The morals of this generation
Have plummeted
Like a shooting star:
Down, down, down!
Decreased morals
And increased immorality;
Standards so low
That anything goes,
No respect for God
Nor regard for life.
God is forgotten.

Civil rights trampled,
Neighbors hated,
Ill-will
And family feuding.
What is love?
God is forgotten.

It is a costly generation:
Destruction and power struggle,
War and fighting,
Disease, famine,
Murder, rioting,
Poverty, hunger
And homelessness.
God is forgotten.

Is the 'bow' yet in the sky—
That God might
Remember his covenant?
Yes. For, now, it is,
But who knows for how long.
