Ruth and Boaz‘s story
Love, beauty, faith, wealth, pow’r
Is an oriental tale
From history’s finest hour.

The troubles of Naomi
Would lead to one-- Boaz,
Whom she would seek for Ruth,
A maiden with pizazz.

A close kin of Naomi,
Boaz, an older man,
Was very much enriched
With servants, crops, and land.

Ruth, her daughter-in-law,
Young beautiful and poor
Without reservations,
Would seize the open door.

A native of the land
Boaz the Israelite
Had eyes for Ruth the stranger
Who was a Moabite.

They married and had children
‘Twas in the divine plan.
Their great grand-- King David
Was a son of Jesse‘s clan.

Whom God made Israel’s King
(Beloved and so grand),
Ancestor of Christ Jesus
According to His plan.
