Circle of Change

Change is all about us
Technology having its way.
Businesses are dying—
The noted of the day.

The phonebook, too, is waning
Becoming hard to find.
Much is pulled from shelves.
The books no more to bind.

Morning News and Evening Press,
The winds of change do blow.
The photo shop and record industry—
The forty-five’s no more.

The album, too, has ceased—
‘Twas called the ‘long play.’
The cassette is almost gone.
The VCR is on its way.

The shadow of technology
Is looming very large
Patrolling life‘s poor river,
Much like a super barge.
