An Unlikely Covering

A pair of shoes.
We seldom acknowledge the importance
And rarely do we give thanks--
But often take them for granted,
Not imagining life without them.
And, yet, unfortunately, there are some
Who don’t know the advantage.
Shoes are a vital covering.
They protect one’s feet--
The vehicle for the entire body.
