Peter the Bold
We love to think of Peter
© 2015 Walterrean Salley
And how brazen he was
Though a disciple,
His life was filled with flaws.
He was so quick to speak
Often without thinking
Thus, ensnaring himself
Like a ship in sinking.
Once he denied Christ
But Jesus loved him still
God knew he only wanted
To do the Father’s will.
Therefore, God would keep him
Whom Satan sought-to-have.
To sift him as summer wheat
Or pierce him upon a stave.
But after some life lessons
Peter gained perspective
His life began to take shape
As one of God’s elected.
So Peter meet true change
And upon his arrival,
He even penned two books
That were included in the Bible.
And he became one of
The greatest disciples known,
Whom Satan couldn‘t touch.
For Peter was God’s own.
