Majestic Oak

The majestic oak spreads her arms
For all the birds to come and rest.
She harbors squirrels ‘neath her wings
And, too, relieves her feathered guests.

Her halo… tiny leaves of gold.
Such tiny leaves a laurel make
Forming then a royal garland
Comely adorned for nature’s sake.

Her shapely contour is unique
With partial roots seen ‘bove the ground.
The moss is like some ancient hairs
Dangling from beneath her crown.

And these be some stately factions
Of her powerful attraction.
