Life Is a Loan

Without a care,
We are stripped bare
Of everything
We've ever known.

From who we are
(Young or grown)
To what we eat,
And what we wear.

We own nothing.
Present -future-past...
Nothing here
Was meant to last.

And even "Time,"
Which we employ
Is not to own.
It's just a loan to enjoy.
