If She Were Here

If Mom were here,
I'd give her flowers
For Mother's Day:
Calla lilies. Or roses.
Irises. Or carnations.
Or, perhaps, sunflowers.
Because flowers
Are so beautiful that,
In their own language,
They say more than
Words can say.

Mom….
She withstood
Many a storm,
And many tests.
Her memories
Deserve the best.
