A Sunshine-Florida Dirge

(Ian Strikes Florida)

Oh beautiful Florida
On the eastern coast.
A tourist attraction;
Hostess with the most.

Thriving and flourishing,
With relative delight,
Attending their business.
Not a worry in sight.

Now, along came Ian -
Quite the monstrous beast.
Once consuming Cuba,
He'd continue his feast.

With eyes on Florida,
So beautiful and fair,
With sunshine, glistening
Pon water everywhere.

Nonetheless, Ian strikes
Like a mighty freight train
Plowing into Florida
With its winds and its rain.

Numerous cities - destroyed
For the flooding of its Coast.
So many lives were snatched
From the hostess with the most.

Oh Flo - the "Sunshine State,"
We feel your hurt and pain.
In heart, we are with you.
The sun will shine again.
