True Joy

True joy is like
A pot of gold—
Sought by both
The young and old.

And found in
Simplistic things,
It causes the heart
To sparkle and sing.

Kindness, peace,
A pure smile.
Innocence in the eyes
Of a child.

Like true riches,
Joy is sought;
But its value
Can’t be bought.

Joy, not of earth
Nor of sod,
But from the very
Heart of God.
