Tattered and Torn

My Bible—tattered and torn—
Is very much alive.
And though it might be worn,
I cherish it with pride.

No other book can change the heart
And cleanse the sinner’s hand.
None can do the miracles
That the Bible can.

None can speak such truth,
Nor can claim such power.
Nor strengthen the human soul
In its weakest hour.

No other book can show us God,
Or take us unto Him—
Gaining His approval nod.
The Bible is a Gem.
