Halloween and COVID-19

COVID has made the past few years
A continuous Halloween
Wherein none has celebrated
But only could endure the scene.

Tho life's dark side is never keen,
Still God has put a 'grip,' a 'sheen'
On gruesome tales and all between
The scary thoughts and scary scenes.

Such 'proverbial' Halloween's
Far removed from peaches and cream.
Forget the thought of 'buttercups.'
Though, lately, things are looking up.

Endnotes: Thank God, things are much better in the struggle against COVID, but the fight is ongoing. And the situation is still nightmarish.

Buttercup flowers (mentioned in the third stanza) are something beautiful to behold.
