Who Dare Thought of Halloween

Who invented Halloween?
And what were they thinking?
Ghosts, ghouls, and goblins.
And all sorts of pranking.

When in my youth, we poor kids
Thought it was so much fun
To dress as ghouls and goblins
In costumes 'next to none.'

But how'd we find so much fun
As "meanies" dressed in sheets,
Playing naughty tricks on folks
That didn't give us treats?
