Halloween and Safety

Once Halloween was a safe game:
Twas way back in the day.
But, somehow, cruelty crept in
And safety walked away.

Meanies dared to lace candy
(And quite unfazed were they)
With 'poison,' 'pins,' and 'needles,'
And then, gave it away.

Tis hard to think that someone
Could have such "evil" heart.
But may we vigilantes
Be vigilant on our part.
