Halloween's of my past

Halloween is a factor
In my childhood-building blocks,
Exposing me to life
In quite a unique way…

That's afforded me varied
Memories of a lifetime -
Of the old stomping grounds
Where, as kids, we used to play.

The ghost and goblin costumes
With their ghoulish face mask,
And multitudes of candy…
The "Halloweens of my past."

And now, that I'm an adult,
For a prayer that I've prayed:
Please Lord forgive, if any,
A cruel trick we may have played.
