The Lady 'Fall'
Made for Fun
Valentines are having fun
But, then, that's what lovers do.
Reminds of a childhood game
One called "Loo… Skip to My Loo."
Laughing and making merry:
Everything beneath the sun.
As he calls her his "sugar,"
She calls him her 'bae; her 'hon.'
Laughter, teasing, looks, smiles.
Solemn glances. Giddy moments.
Letters, flowers, notes, and songs.
Whispers, gestures, secret hints.
Pardon me sweet Valentines,
Embossing your classy scene -
Continue with your frolicing,
Allowing nought to intervene.
A Prayer for Firefighters
(Remember to pray for our firemen and their families everywhere.)
Bless the firefighters—one and ALL;
Go before them on each call.
Protect them as they serve our kind,
Saving lives with theirs online.
By Your mercy and
Your grace,
Keep their families truly safe.
May they never suffer harm
At the sound of the alarm.
Grant them wisdom, knowledge too—
All, dear Lord, which comes from You.
Daily be their shield and guide;
Never—ever—leave
their side.
Strengthen now the hands that serve
With the blessings they deserve.

Not Just Another Holiday
Awoke with bells this morning,
Christmas on my mind:
Not the modern Christmases
But the ancient kind.
When folks were warm and cordial
As friendly as could be,
While visiting each other
With peace and love and glee.
When the hearth would burn,
And chimneys gave off smoke.
And care for one another
Was not some ill-fate joke.
And Christmas was the time
Men's hearts were stirred for God
Who sent His Son to dwell
Midst onerous-human pod.
Not just another holiday
To idle the time away...
But one endearing to the heart
And memorable always.

More Grateful Than Ever
This year I am more grateful
Than ever before.
The Lord has been so gracious
To bless us once more.
A simple home and raiments.
Some loaves, and some fish.
Can truly say that I have
More than heart could wish.
With friends and my family...
Good health to enjoy,
I feel like a little kid
With a brand new toy.
I do not have a complaint
Just a grateful heart.
So thankful for life and love,
Just to be a part.

Christmas Light
Candles burning clear and bright.
Shadows dancing ‘pon the wall.
Celebrating Christmastime.
Having a great Yuletide ball.
Enhancing the arena,
Candlelight is no small means—
Its deep and mystique aura
Brightening the Christmas scene.
Beautiful the dazzling glow,
Etching imprints ‘pon the mind.
Gingerly the mem'ries flow,
Casting Christmas for mankind.
Happy flames all burning bright,
Celebrating the true Light.

Love Abides
Knowledge vanishes.
Foundations decay.
Age matures,
And relations give way.
But love never sways.
Life is a vapor.
And time flees.
Though rivers end
And brooks cease,
Love will be.
Beauty fades,
And desires fail.
Tales end,
And paths grow dim,
But love is certain.
Leaves wither,
And days grow dark.
Flowers fade,
And souls depart.
But love is an ever-fixed mark.
Snow melts.
Even stars will die.
And the future is as uncertain
As the tide.
But love abides.

Will You Love Me Then
When the body is old
And out shape,
And the hair thins,
And the teeth shake,
Will you love me then?
When the hair is gray
From years well spent,
And the back is arched,
And the knees are bent,
Will you love me then?
When the tummy pouches
And the belly bulges,
As wrinkles surface
And the chin nudges,
Will you love me then?
When steps are shortened
As gait slows,
And strength diminishes
As weakness grows,
Will you love me then?
With eyes on the table
And teeth in a glass,
While together
Reminiscing the past,
Will you love me then?
When I grunt getting up
And groan sitting down,
And it takes me an hour
To turn around,
Will you love me then?
Will you love me
Through storm and rain?
Through joy and sorrow?
Poverty or gain?
Through sickness and health
To life’s uncertain end—
Will you still love me?
Will you love me then?

The Fog
The fog is an illusion—
A master of disguise,
Which hides the tangible
Before our very eyes.
But when the fog has lifted
Everything’s still there,
And the tangible
Only seemed to’ve disappeared.
In the early morning
Or late at night,
The fog descends
Upon various sites.
It gives an air of mystery
That has long prevailed.
Dangerously intriguing
Is the fog’s foggy veil.

Sleep Little Baby
Sleep little baby, sleep tonight.
Smile—be happy with never a fright.
Lay in my arms and gently rest;
To soothe your brow, I will caress.
Sleep little baby, sleep till the morn.
Sweet be thy dreams, smiles to adorn.
Rest in my bosom sleep thro' the night
Till dawn arises with a kiss of light.
I am right here, you're never alone;
And I'll be there till the dark is gone.
I will be there to right every wrong,
To calm you with words and a song.
Sleep little babe, sleep well tonight—
With never a worry and never a fright.

Almighty Deliverer, save our nation—
The land that you have given us.
The heritage of our fathers,
Founded upon a godly trust.
Our banner waves against the sky,
Stars and stripes flying high.
Though storm clouds rage,
The hope of the ages
Will ever be our Light—
To go before and guide the way
That we shall not fear the night.
FOOTNOTE: This is Psalm-30, taken from my collection of original psalms. It is a Prayer-Psalm: a hymn for the nation in the wake of 911. And it continues to be my prayer for the nation today. Pray for America.
In Heaven...
Someday the poor will flour’sh.
Hunger shall cease to be.
The lame will leap for joy.
The groping blind shall see.
Paralytics made whole--
What a glorious sight.
The prisoner of death
Shall live in perfect light.
Age will be no factor,
For time shall be no more.
Shadowy nights are banned
From that glorious shore.
The dumb will plainly talk
And sing aloud with glee.
The crippled, they shall walk
And stroll the crystal sea.
The lowly and downcast,
Who now must poorly fare,
Shall be duly honored
With grand dignity there.
No gurney is needed.
No wheelchair, walker, cane.
No medics are needed,
For there will be no pain.
Prosthetics and braces
Eyeglasses, crutches too
All are barred from heaven
Where everything is new.
There will be no sickness,
Poverty, stride, nor strife.
But only peace and health,
Love and eternal life.
